Yinghui Wu is a Theodore L. and Dana J.Schroeder
Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Data
Sciences, Case School of Engineering in the Case Western Reserve
University. He holds a joint position as a staff scientist at the
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His area is in Data
and Knowledge management, Databases, Data Mining and Machine
Learning, with a recent focus on graph data management, graph
learning and analytics.
Yinghui directs the CWRU database group. His group devises and
designs novel data management and analysis paradigms and tools to
support data and knowledge exploration in Big Data. He co-directs
the Materials Data Science for Stockpile Stewardship Center of
Excellence (MDS3 COE) with Dr. Roger French. His research has
received several awards including an ACM SIGMOD research highlight
award, several Best Paper and Runner Up Awards (SIGMOD, VLDB,
ICDE, IEEE BigData), and Google Faculty Research Award. He has
received a VLDB Distinguished Reviewer award. His current research
has a focus on cost-effective, scalable data systems for knowledge
and data exploration. His research is supported by NSF, DOE, USDA,
national laboratories and industry partners.
Yinghui received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University
of Edinburgh, UK, and B.S. in Computer Science from Peking
University, China. He held the positions of research
scientist at Department of Computer Science, University of
California Santa Barbara, and visiting scholars at Army Research
Lab and Raytheon BBN Technologies. He served as a member of
Network Science Collaborative Technique Alliance (NS-CTA). He
serves as an associate editor for ACM Journal of Data and
Information Quality and a guest editor for WWW Journal.
